Peoria North Rotary Club will celebrate World Polio Day with a special talk by Rotary International PolioPlus Director Carol Pandak at its Oct. 28 club meeting.
 
All Rotarians and their guests are invited to join the virtual meeting, which begins at 5:45 p.m. with a brief social followed the meeting at 6 p.m.
 
Reservations are required by emailing Sharee Sheets at sharee.sheets@hotmail.com. A Zoom invitation will be sent a few days prior to the meeting to all those who register.
 
Carol is the director of PolioPlus, Rotary’s global effort to eradicate polio, working in partnership with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
 
She has held this position since 2000. She will provide an update on Rotary’s efforts worldwide to eradicate polio.
 
World Polio Day this year is set for Oct. 24.
