District 5495 Governor David Simmer made his official visit to the Peoria North Rotary Club on Dec. 11. DG David provided an inspirational talk on Rotary International's "vision statement." During the meeting, he also presented the club with two special awards: An "Every Rotarian Every Year" banner, and a "100% Foundation Giving Club" banner. Both banners recognize the club's strong support for the Rotary Foundation. The DG also presented a special award to Sharee Sheets for her service and commitment to Rotary efforts locally and internationally. Following the meeting, club members posed with "Mia," the district governor's car emblazoned with Rotary insignia (named "Mia" in honor of the actress Mia Farrow, who is a polio survivor).
