Rotarians throughout the Valley came together October 24 to commemorate World Polio Day.

Peoria North Rotary Club hosted a public viewing of The Rotary Foundation's annual update on our efforts to eradicate polio. The screening was held at Dave & Buster's, 9460 W. Hanna Lane, Glendale (at Westgate Center).

A crowd of over 30 Rotarians, friends and guests attended the viewing, which described the status of efforts to eradicate polio throughout the world. Polio still exists in two countries, although it was announced during the viewing that two of the three strains of the polio virus known to exist have officially been declared eliminated.

Among the Rotary Clubs represented at the event: Peoria North, Glendale West, Sun City Satellite, Phoenix 100, Surprise Sunset and Sun City West. Two visiting Rotarians from Arlington, Texas also stopped by.
